Sports massage provides pre, post and maintenance therapy but you don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. The treatment generally concentrates on a specific problem area such as back, neck, shoulder, knee etc.
Sports massage is based on the various elements of Swedish massage and incorporates a combination of techniques involving stretching, compression, friction, toning and trigger point therapy. Sports massage tends to be deeper and more intense and I always use hot stone therapy in the treatment and occasionally deep percussion tools.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a special type of massage that reduces swelling from lymphoedema. The aim of the massage is to move fluid from the swollen area into an area where the lymphatic system is working normally. The massage is gentle - it is not a deep massage. The movements are slow and rhythmic so the lymph vessels open up. Lymphatic drainage helps drain puffy, swollen tissues, supports the body’s immune system, helps the body heal from surgery and aids the body’s natural waste removal or detoxification.

Reflexology with Indian Head Massage - £55
Reflexology is the practice of massaging and applying pressure to certain areas of the feet. It is an ancient therapy believed to be around 5000 years old and originally practiced by the Chinese and Egyptians. Reflexology helps the body’s natural energy to flow better, identifying and removing any blockages to help re- tune and bring the body back into balance. It is based on the principle that certain areas of the feet called reflexes are linked to and correspond to other areas on the body. Areas corresponding to parts of the body which are out of balance may feel uncomfortable or tender when massaged and the degree of tenderness will indicate the degree of imbalance. Reflexology improves circulation and lymph flow, cleanses the body of impurities, excellent for stress relief as well as invigorating and energising.

Hopi ear candling also known as Thermal Auricular Therapy is an ancient and natural therapy handed down by many civilisations. However, the practice reached the modern world via the Native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona. The candles work on a chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the surface where they may be gently removed. The pressure flow circulates a concentrated vapour enriched with the herbal extracts inside the ear which also gently massages the ear drum. Ear candling is a pleasant and non - invasive treatment of the ears and helps with many problems and conditions associated with the ear, nose and throat. It is suitable for compacted wax, sinusitis, catarrh, glue ear, tinnitus, colds and flu, sore throats, hay fever, headaches and snoring.
